Located in our Galesburg, IL plant, you will be a Human Resource Generalist. As our HR Generalist you will be supporting employees and leaders at the site in various functions and for all shifts. You will serve as a business partner on the plant leadership team supporting the business strategy with specific focus on maximizing organizational capability, creating a high performance, engaging culture, and continuous pursuit of HR functional excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Provide on-site employee relations assistance, work with Corporate and Regional HR Directors as needed
Oversee performance management, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end evaluations, and employee development planning
Manage training programs, including curriculum development and delivery
Work with factory managers and plant recruiters to ensure appropriate staffing levels, utilizing full-time and temporary employees as approved
Assist in developing and delivering employee communications, including directing shift change meetings or plant-wide meetings
Lead and support employee retention and engagement initiatives by leveraging data-driven insights, workforce feedback, and continuous improvement strategies
Track and report site KPIs and other operational metrics
Partner with union representatives and plant leadership to administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements, support grievance resolution, and ensure compliance with labor relations practices while fostering a positive labor-management relationship
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
HR focus preferred
Three years of progressive Human Resources experience
Operational or manufacturing site experience preferred
PHR/SPHR or related HR certification is a plus
Comprehensive knowledge of HR disciplines, including staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with HR laws and regulations
Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, including studying issues, developing solutions, and implementing effective action plans
Working knowledge of union environments and labor regulations, including experience supporting compliance with collective bargaining agreements, grievance processes, and applicable federal and state labor laws
Sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information, ensuring alignment with business goals
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems such as Oracle
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
Nice to have:
PHR/SPHR or related HR certification is a plus
Operational or manufacturing site experience preferred
