Our client in the professional sector is hiring for a Human Resource Business Partner with unionized experience to join their team! This position offers a strategic opportunity to manage the full spectrum of human resources and labour relations within regulated environments. You will act as a pivotal link between leadership and the workforce, driving engagement and maintaining productive relationships between leadership and employees.
Job Responsibility
Collaborate directly with business leaders to identify and prioritize organizational capabilities, behaviors, and team structures needed to hit strategic goals
Partner closely with Talent Acquisition squad and hiring managers to build proactive staffing plans, navigate project assignments, and manage talent redeployment
Act as a trusted coach to management team, guiding them through the lifecycle of people leadership, from performance management and talent development to compensation strategy and terminations
Empower leaders to handle difficult conversations, navigate workplace conflict, and champion respectful workplace practices
Serve as internal expert on all labor and employee relations matters, including collective agreement interpretation, guiding workplace investigations, handling conflict resolution, and managing grievances and discipline
Ensure compliance with provincial legislation (BC Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Code, and Human Rights Code)
Leverage modern HR technologies and data metrics to spot trends, track organizational health, and inform leadership decisions
Play a key role in driving organizational change initiatives, workforce development activities, and cross-functional HR projects
Requirements
5-8 years of HR experience, preferably in a unionized environment
Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, or a related field of study is preferred
CPHR designation is strongly preferred (or currently in progress)
