Job Description:

We’re seeking a dynamic HR professional to join our client on a 12-month contract in the banking and insurance space. In this role, you’ll serve as a key advisor and resource to managers and staff, providing hands-on support in a range of human resources functions, from employee relations to recruitment, compensation, and compliance. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience and helping the business make informed, people-centered decisions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employee relations concerns, conducting fair and thorough investigations as needed
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workplace culture, engagement, and productivity—then bring forward actionable solutions
  • Analyze workforce data and trends to generate insights and deliver regular reports that support strategic HR decisions
  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations and collaborate with legal counsel when appropriate
  • Partner with hiring managers to support end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and job offer processes
  • Oversee and maintain compensation agreements, working closely with sales and compensation teams on incentive plans
  • Craft clear and concise employee communications related to payroll, benefits, and HR updates
  • Maintain and update the HRIS system to ensure accuracy of employee records and produce required reports
  • Coordinate annual performance review cycles and provide guidance to managers and employees throughout the process
  • Manage and organize employment documentation to meet audit and compliance standards
  • Keep job descriptions current and aligned with organizational needs
  • Interpret HR policies and provide support to leadership in applying them consistently
  • Collaborate with the learning and development team to create and implement targeted training initiatives
  • Provide high-level service to internal stakeholders with a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
  • Stay informed about changes in labor laws and industry regulations
  • Support internal reporting needs and assist with succession planning efforts across the business

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources with a relevant degree
  • Strong coaching skills and the ability to guide teams through complex issues with confidence and empathy
  • In-depth understanding of employment law and HR best practices (CHRP designation is a plus)
  • Fluent in English
  • bilingual French language skills are an asset
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities with a sharp eye for detail
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with HR systems and reporting tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
