Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Human Factors Specialist for Safety in maintenance (M/F) to join our Safety in Maintenance & Compliance (SIW) department based in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a team developing Safety in Maintenance activities within Airbus Customer Services. As part of the Engineering & Maintenance organisation, you will be involved in Human Factors activities for maintenance operations, aiming at enhancing fleet safety, customer operational efficiency and compliance. The Human Factors’ mission is to contribute to safety and customer operation efficiency, by ensuring that Airbus considers Human performance and limitations in its research, development, certification, production and customer support activities for its Products, Services and Processes. Minimizing human operator workload and errors, enabling effective abnormal situation responses and enhancing task performance is part of the mission. You will be joining a passionate and highly motivated team and network that are industry leaders in the development and the growth of the Human Factors discipline in Maintenance.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to safety enhancement process (MC.PS.10, SCM, PSC, PTA) focused on HF analysis of Human related occurrences reported to Airbus in service
Monitoring the trends, detecting and providing qualitative and quantitative outputs to the maintenance safety group
Contribute to the set-up and the evolution of a collaborative environment (HERO) for airlines/Airbus investigation
Contribute to continued airworthiness process (MC.PS.02) by preparing the Airbus answer to the PART-21.B extension to Maintenance highlighting the analysis of Human related occurrence in continuous airworthiness
Preparing the frame and performing an efficient HF analysis of Human related events created in the frame of the PART21 obligations and as per Airbus standard (method, time frame, interfaces, outputs, validity of inputs and analysis)
Preparing and contributing to the official report (risk assessment) of the analysed event, validated with the relevant network
Feed Aircraft Operability teams and Design Office with In-service data related to human contributions in Maintenance (Feedback loop to Engineering)
Exchange and capitalize on experience feedback with final users
Prepare future design with specific audit on some functions with customers: design office request, use of critical function or procedures
Contribute to build a mapping of worldwide profiles, working situations and organizations (in maintenance) of today and in the future
Integrate human factors principles in safety analysis, lessons learnt analysis and transfer them to relevant entities
Develop processes and tools to support the monitoring of human related occurrences
Provide recommendations for enhancing maintenance solutions through a systemic approach (products, documentation and training)
Contribute with other entities in commercial aircraft to set-up the governance, processes, methods & tools of the Human Factors in Maintenance
Contributing to Human Factors in Maintenance innovation and research projects
Conducting Human Factors analyses of in-service use of products to capture issues, safety risks and lessons learnt
Foster efficient cooperation with the Airbus department in charge of the technical data, the Ground Supplier Equipment, the design office
Be in close coordination with the Airbus Human Factors network within Customer Services
Coordinate on some topics with flight operations department in customer service (e.g. continuous airworthiness)
Requirements:
Master degree or PhD in Cognitive Psychology / Ergonomics
Knowledge of human and human factors methods (complete cursus up to master-2 or PhD)
Academic or professional background in physiology and anthropometrics would be appreciated
Knowledge of human capabilities and limitations in complex and high risk systems
Knowledge of HMI usability criteria and processes for product design
Knowledge of standards in the field of human factors & maintenance
Knowledge of ergonomics / psychology methods
Minimum 5 years experience as Human Factors specialist
Knowledge of maintenance tasks, aircraft and airline operations
Basic knowledge of Project Management techniques
Advanced level in English (minimum B2, C1 targeted)
