Job Description:

As a Human Factors Specialist supporting the TRINITY (Battlefield Communications) Programme, you will assist in delivering User-Centred Design and Integration activities. This could include assessing Commercial-Off-The-Shelf equipment against system requirements / user needs; engaging with users to understand their goals and tasks; conducting detailed analyses to understand cognitive workload and human error; anthropometric assessment and workspace/workstation design; working with other engineering functions and disciplines to support their tasks.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support Vigilant lead HFI specialist in the conduct of human factors activities and integration of HF into the TRINITY design
  • Work with end user groups and HF stakeholders in workshops, trials and User-Centred Design activities
  • Assess prototypes/mock-ups of TRINITY hardware and software solutions
  • Conduct analyses such as, task analysis, human error analysis, usability and workload assessments
  • Support Integration Testing and verification activities
  • Produce reports and input to customer deliverables

Requirements:

  • Proven ability as a Human Factors practitioner in defence or a safety-critical industry
  • Proven ability in the application of Def Stan 00-251 whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team on complex system integration and development projects
  • Worked in a military / defence environment / industry within the last 12 months or who is capable of obtaining security clearance (SC level minimum)
