Job Description:

Performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance inspections/calibrations on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment. Services some complex and high-risk equipment with guidance from more senior technical staff.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs routine repairs on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment using basic test equipment and repair tools. Prepares and maintains related documentation
  • Performs preventative maintenance testing of routine electromechanical medical equipment according to established procedures
  • Understands medical device regulations and ensures assigned medical devices are managed in compliance with those regulations
  • Participates in inspection tours of clinical and/or research areas using medical equipment
  • Documents all service actions and complies with documentation guidelines and metrics defined in department policy
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships and independently manages clinical resource area(s)
  • Acts as a technical resource for clinical customer base. Consults and collaborates with peers to resolve outstanding issues
  • Provides excellent customer service, defining problems, developing solutions, and performing follow-up. Keeps customers apprised of statuses and estimated completion dates

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Occupationally specific education or Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field
