Our team in St. John's, NL is seeking a HSSE Advisor to ensure HSSE Plans are communicated and implemented in accordance with regulatory, corporate, and contract requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support multiple projects throughout the Life Cycle Canada organization
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to form relationships and deliver value for our clients
  • Develop Project HSSE Plans and other contractual HSSE deliverables
  • Participate in and ensure that site HSSE protocols are effectively carried out (ie: risk assessments, toolbox talks, orientations, site inspections, regular safety meetings, etc.)
  • Identify risks and hazards associated with work activities and facilities and confirm that appropriate controls are in place to remove or reduce the risk to acceptable levels
  • Visit operational sites and work locations, both onshore and offshore to promote two-way engagement and visible leadership
  • Promote Aker Solutions HSSE strategy, goals, KPIs and activity plans
  • Conduct workplace investigations, including reporting and actioning of incidents and near-miss occurrences
  • Collect and compile HSSE statistics and completing monthly reporting
  • Develop and communicate safety alerts and lessons learned
  • Practice Emergency Response Management
  • Support internal, external and supplier audit activities

Requirements:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a HSE-related discipline and/or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • 5-7 years of local industry experience
  • NCSO designation, or the willingness to obtain
  • An understanding of the drivers for HSSE performance and culture
  • Working knowledge of provincial legislation and offshore regulatory requirements
  • The ability to analyze and use data to guide decisions, objectives and initiatives
  • Valid offshore regulatory certification would be considered an asset
