Job Description

The HSQE Manager is responsible for the management of the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) systems across the site. This influential leadership role provides strong technical knowledge, a focus on balancing compliance with operational realities, and driving a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality and environmental performance of the Gosport Sheet Plant.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensuring legal compliance is maintained to a high standard for HSQE, keeping up to date with any changes in legislation
  • Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced and develop Safe Systems of Work throughout the plant
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of the Group H & S Policy, recommending changes and additions if necessary, and the provision of advice to employees
  • Ensuring all safety records are maintained and are accurate
  • Assisting departmental/line managers in the investigation of accidents/ incidents at sites where they have responsibility or as directed by the UK HSE Manager
  • Managing HSQE compliance, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Working with the management team to prioritise and manage customer expectations and address actions in relation to customer complaints, non-conformances, internal and external audits
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check SK policies and procedures are being properly implemented
  • Coordinate both Quality and HSE monthly and annual meetings, ensuring there is an agenda and minutes are taken
  • Work with the UK Quality and H&S teams across various locations
  • Carry out periodic safety inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe plant, working conditions and practices
  • Present monthly toolbox talks and any other group/ site information
