About the RoleReporting directly to the Operations Manager, the HSEQ Manager will take full ownership of enhancing the company's health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems. This is a brilliant opportunity for a proactive HSEQ professional who thrives on driving a strong safety culture, maintaining ISO accreditations, and working closely with both site teams and senior management.

Job Responsibility

  • System Management: Formulate, implement, and continuously improve HSEQ policies and procedures to align with industry best practices and ISO standards
  • Compliance & Safety Equipment: Ensure total compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Manage safety equipment issuance, control, and stock levels
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into any workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement robust corrective and preventive actions
  • Training & Safety Culture: Deliver HSEQ training programs, lead toolbox talks, and proactively engage with employees and subcontractors to champion a culture of safety
  • Auditing: Manage internal audit schedules, participate in client inspections, and ensure the company's formal ISO accreditations are strictly upheld
  • Tenders & Reporting: Assist the Pre-Contracts team with HSEQ data for major tender submissions and pre-qualification renewals. Gather and analyse data to provide strategic insights to senior management

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: A strong background as an HSEQ Coordinator or Manager within the Australian commercial construction, fit-out, or remediation sectors
  • ISO Systems Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining accredited ISO management systems (Safety, Quality, and Environment)
  • Communication Skills: Ability to seamlessly pivot from talking to subcontractors on-site to presenting data-driven reports to senior executives
  • Proactive Mindset: A problem solver who looks for root causes, enjoys implementing practical safety solutions, and supports tender processes
  • Relevant Qualifications: Cert IV or Diploma in WHS / Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent industry experience)
