Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality within a dynamic, site-based construction environment. Working closely with the HSEQ Manager and operational teams, you will play a key role in maintaining high HSEQ standards across mobile airfield projects, supporting compliance with legal, client and Breedon management system requirements, while helping to promote a positive and practical HSEQ culture on site. This role offers valuable exposure to complex, high-risk construction activities within a Tier 1 supply chain, alongside structured support and ongoing professional development. As a mobile role, the successful candidate would be expected to travel and/or relocate significant distances depending on project locations.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the maintenance and day-to-day operation of Breedon’s ISO-accredited Integrated Management System (IMS) and assist with the preparation and collation of project documentation
  • Support with the control, review and updating of HSEQ documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance and provide practical HSEQ support to site teams across all aspects of mobile surfacing construction works
  • Oversee the internal audit programme and support preparation for internal audits, external certification audits and accreditation surveillance visits
  • Assist with monitoring HSEQ performance, including incidents, near misses and non-conformances and any subsequent investigations, monitoring corrective and preventative actions thereafter
  • Support compliance with CDM 2015 requirements and contractor duties and assist with routine site inspections and assurance visits, recording findings and actions
  • Encourage positive safety behaviours and open reporting whilst actively contributing to continuous improvement of systems, processes and site practices

Requirements

  • A good level of awareness of UK health & safety legislation, ideally with a NEBOSH Certificate or an IOSH qualification
  • A deep understanding of the ISO management systems framework, with at least an internal auditor qualification to one of the IMS standards (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001)
  • A genuine interest in HSEQ within construction or civil engineering
  • Confident communicator able to engage with site teams and work on own initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 with the ability to create, edit, and format complex documents and spreadsheets
  • Willingness to work in a mobile, site-based role across the UK
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
