Job Description

The HSE Admin supports daily Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) operations within a manufacturing environment by executing compliance activities, maintaining HSE systems, and supporting field-level safety engagement. This role is responsible for ensuring consistency in inspections, data tracking, and corrective action follow-up while maintaining a visible presence in the field. The position is designed to support operational execution and provide real-world experience in safety systems, environmental compliance, and manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform routine stormwater inspections and maintain MSGP documentation
  • Conduct hazardous waste inspections and verify proper storage, labeling, and handling
  • Support chemical storage compliance and identify gaps
  • Maintain environmental logs and records to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Conduct routine safety and compliance inspections using established audit tools
  • Verify conditions in the field (housekeeping, guarding, PPE, storage practices, etc.)
  • Document findings and track corrective actions to closure
  • Escalate unresolved or high-risk issues to HSE leadership
  • Enter and maintain events (injuries, near misses, property damage)
  • Track corrective actions (ATS), monitor aging items, and follow up on overdue items to support timely closure
  • Maintain accuracy of HSE data and support reporting metrics
  • Assist in development and maintenance of tracking dashboards
  • Track weekly safety activities completed by supervisors (observations, hazard hunts, conversations)
  • Identify gaps in participation and follow up to ensure completion
  • Maintain and update tracking dashboards
  • Provide summaries to support coaching and accountability
  • Follow up with responsible individuals to ensure completion of assigned safety actions and escalate delays as needed
  • Maintain regular presence on the manufacturing floor
  • Support hazard identification and reinforce safe work practices
  • Assist supervisors with JSA usage and basic safety expectations
  • Observe work and report potential risks or process gaps
  • Assist in development and documentation of HSE standard work
  • Support scheduling, tracking, and organization of HSE activities

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program (Safety, Environmental, Industrial, or related field)
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Coursework in OSHA, environmental compliance, or industrial safety
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing operations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel or data tracking tools
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Comfortable being in the field and interacting with operations
  • Curious and willing to learn
  • Able to identify gaps and communicate clearly
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Willingness to engage with frontline employees and supervisors
