Our client is a major player in the Australian infrastructure landscape, currently delivering a significant large-scale wind farm project in Carmody Hill. You will lead safety and environmental outcomes during a critical construction phase involving substation construction, battery control systems and wind turbine installation. This is a key leadership role providing expert guidance to site teams and subcontractors to ensure the project meets regulatory standards, best-practice safety benchmarks and continuous improvement of HSE management systems. This is a DIDO role based approximately 200km north of Adelaide operating on a 14 days on, 7 days off roster.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and mentor a site-based team, including two Safety Advisors and Environmental Manager
Oversee high-risk activities including heavy crane lifts, large-scale concrete pours and complex electrical network installations
Manage environmental factors unique to the region, specifically dust mitigation and waterway/drainage management
Coordinate with major technology partners and subcontractors to ensure seamless safety compliance across vast site corridors
Conduct internal audits and incident investigations to maintain a proactive safety culture
Requirements:
Minimum 8 years of experience in an HSE Manager role, specifically within construction, mining or power sectors
Tertiary qualifications in WHS or Environmental Management
Strong technical understanding of civil works, heavy lifting and electrical infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to manage environmental risks such as erosion, sediment control and local water impacts
ICAM Lead Investigator or Lead Auditor qualifications are highly desirable
