With a long-standing heritage of technical excellence, our client delivers complex, large-scale engineering projects across Australia. They are currently seeking a dedicated HSE Manager / Specialist to join their North Sydney team and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality across their operations. This is a critical and hybrid position that combines high-level system management with practical site assurance. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company's WHSE management system while providing expert guidance to project teams and subcontractors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and improve the in-house WHSE system in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Lead internal and subcontractor audits, ensuring all documentation and reporting meet regulatory standards
  • Develop and monitor site-specific WHSE plans and deliver safety inductions for site staff
  • Evaluate contractor safety capabilities and review risk assessment registers
  • Collect monthly HSE statistics and support external certification audits

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years within the Power Generation, Utilities, or Heavy Engineering sectors
  • A qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or similar) is highly regarded, alongside a Cert IV in WHS or Bachelor in OHS
  • Proven track record in conducting internal and external WHSE audits (ISO 45001/14001)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Must hold full and unrestricted Australian working rights
