Job Description

The HSE Advisor provides operational support to ensure compliance with statutory, client, and company health, safety, and environmental requirements. The role supports Business Units in embedding HSE systems, monitoring performance, investigating incidents, and promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing.

Job Responsibility

  • Support Business Units to implement and maintain compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and relevant legislative obligations
  • Conduct regular site inspections, observations, and compliance reviews to verify adherence to company policies, procedures, and safe work practices
  • Provide technical HSE advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, and field teams
  • Support the investigation of incidents and near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented and tracked to closure
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessments, and the development of safe work methods and environmental controls
  • Monitor leading and lagging HSE indicators and assist in the preparation of monthly performance reports
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of external and internal HSE audits
  • Support induction, toolbox talks, and training initiatives to strengthen awareness and capability
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation, registers, and records in accordance with company systems
  • Provide input into emergency response preparedness, including drills, testing, and review of site plans
  • Support subcontractor HSE prequalification and compliance monitoring in line with business and client requirements

Requirements

  • Understanding of Victorian OHS legislation
  • Exposure to ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
  • Experience in safety audits and incident investigations
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety
  • Environmental management qualifications
  • Incident investigation training
  • Construction White Card
  • Current driver's licence
