The HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Biotech is a hands-on HR leader who will partner with global biotech employees to deliver high-impact people solutions. Reporting to the Global Head of Human Resources Biotech, this role requires a seasoned HR professional who can operate at both the advisory and tactical level—contributing to the evolution of HR programs and processes while also owning execution across a dynamic and growing population. This individual will serve as a primary HR point of contact for the global biotech team employees and managers (1st & 2nd line leaders), with deep accountability across employee relations, performance management, management coaching, talent development, and change management. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial stage biotech or pharmaceutical HRBP experience, sound judgment in sensitive employee matters, and the ability to build trust and credibility with leaders at all levels of the organization. Job Responsibility
Serve as the lead on all employee relations matters for the supported population, including conducting and managing workplace investigations from intake through resolution and documentation
Partner with Compliance and external employment counsel (legal) as needed on sensitive, complex, or high-risk investigations, ensuring thorough, fair, and legally compliant processes
Advise and coach managers on progressive discipline, performance concerns, workplace conduct issues, and conflict resolution
Monitor employee relations trends and proactively identify systemic issues
Educate managers on legal practices, acceptable workplace behaviors, and appropriate counseling methods
Provide input on the continuous improvement, and strategic evolution of Dompé's performance management framework
Lead the end-to-end execution of the annual performance management cycle for the global biotech employees and managers
Assist in the annual compensation review and promotion process for the supported population
Ensure managers are equipped with the tools, templates, and coaching needed to deliver meaningful performance feedback
Provide 1st and 2nd line management coaching for global biotech leaders
Coach managers through difficult conversations, team restructuring, role transitions, and talent decisions
Identify leadership development needs and partner with the Biotech HR lead and global HR colleagues to deliver targeted coaching, training, or mentoring interventions
Support new manager onboarding and development
Support talent development efforts for US employees and managers
Contribute to succession planning, talent review, and high-potential identification processes
Support employee engagement initiatives, including survey administration, action planning, and follow-through
Support recruiting efforts as needed by participating in candidate interviews
Contribute to the design of change management initiatives
Drive the execution of change management plans within the supported population
Act as a change agent who helps leaders and teams navigate transitions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field required
8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an HRBP or HR generalist role supporting the commercial
Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations matters independently
Proven experience owning the execution of performance management cycles end-to-end, including compensation review and promotion processes
Track record of coaching and advising 1st and 2nd line managers on people management, performance, and leadership effectiveness
Experience supporting global or matrixed populations, ideally in organizations with European locations
Experience in high-growth environment where scaling process and infrastructure is required
Strong working knowledge of US federal, state (particularly California), and local employment law
MBA, JD, Master's in HR/OD, or other advanced degree strongly preferred
SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification strongly preferred
