Job Description:

The Director, HR Technology & Solutions Delivery is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, delivering, and optimising the HR technology ecosystem in support of the enterprise HR and business strategy. Acting as the primary bridge between HR and IT, you will lead HR business engagement, oversee solution design, delivery and operations, and ensure HR systems enable scalable, compliant, and data-driven people processes. You will have end-to-end accountability for the HR technology landscape, including Workday (core HCM and modules), and associated platforms such as talent acquisition, learning management systems, benefits providers, and HR master data solutions. Our Workday IT Operations team will report directly into this role. You will report to our Deputy Chief Information Officer.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as the senior IT partner to HR leadership, translating HR and business strategy into a coherent HR technology roadmap
  • Lead structured engagement with HR stakeholders to define, prioritise, and govern HR technology initiatives
  • Provide thought leadership on HR technology trends, system capabilities, and best practices to support workforce strategy, transformation, and growth
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of HR technology solutions, from demand intake and design through build, testing, deployment, and stabilisation
  • Ensure solutions are aligned to agreed business outcomes, architectural standards, and security, privacy, and compliance requirements
  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams and external partners to deliver complex, multi-system HR initiatives on time and within scope
  • Provide executive leadership and direction for the Workday platform, including roadmap planning, release management, configuration, integrations, and ongoing optimisation
  • Oversee the Workday Operations team, ensuring high system availability, data quality, and effective support for HR and the business
  • Lead, mentor and guide the Workday operations team to deliver and support innovative product capabilities and solutions for while fostering collaboration across IT and HR teams
  • Act as the senior escalation point for Workday-related issues, risks, and decisions
  • Provide strategic oversight and integration across the wider HR technology landscape
  • Ensure systems operate as a cohesive ecosystem, with strong integration, governance, and user experience
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for HR technology investment, change management, and data ownership
  • Manage relationships with key technology vendors and implementation partners, including performance, contracts, and commercial oversight
  • Ensure HR systems meet regulatory, audit, data privacy, and security requirements across all regions
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing HR technology and Workday teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Act as a visible, credible technology leader within IT and the broader organisation

Requirements:

  • Senior leadership experience in HR technology, ideally within a complex, enterprise environment
  • Deep hands-on experience with Workday (HCM and/or major modules), including operational ownership and large-scale solution and innovation delivery
  • Proven ability to lead HR business engagement and translate strategic HR priorities into technology solutions
  • Strong experience overseeing integrated HR systems beyond core HCM
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams and third-party vendors
  • Strong executive communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience operating at Director or equivalent senior leadership level
