We are looking for a dedicated HR Specialist to join our manufacturing team in Piqua, Ohio. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to key HR functions, including payroll processing, recruitment, and employee onboarding. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a proactive approach to fostering a positive workplace environment.
Job Responsibility:
Manage biweekly payroll for employees across multiple shifts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Oversee full-cycle recruitment for hourly operator positions, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, offers, and onboarding processes
Conduct new employee orientations and facilitate smooth onboarding experiences using Paycor
Enforce attendance policies and address employee concerns in a detail-oriented and empathetic manner
Build strong relationships with employees, including those from diverse and challenging backgrounds, to promote inclusivity and support
Coordinate drug screenings and ensure all pre-employment requirements are met
Provide guidance and training to new hires to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles
Collaborate with management to improve HR processes and support organizational goals
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with HR regulations
Actively contribute to creating a positive and productive workplace culture
Requirements:
Proven experience in human resources administration, particularly in payroll and onboarding
Familiarity with Paycor or similar HR systems is preferred but not required
Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruiting processes, including job postings, interviews, and new employee orientations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage empathetically with employees
Previous exposure to manufacturing environments is highly desirable
Ability to enforce workplace policies while maintaining a respectful and considerate approach
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn and grow within the role, with a long-term commitment to ongoing development
