Job Responsibility:
Provide specialist professional and technical expertise, advice and support to the Executive Manager HR & Safety, Senior Leadership Team and other stakeholders in relation to statutory obligations and governing instruments oversight, management and compliance
Keep abreast of employment laws and regulations, award reviews and wage determinations and provide advice to Senior Management on high-risk IR matters
Oversee and maintain the operational management and continuous quality improvement of the recruitment, selection and onboarding processes for the organisation
Ensure the team provide accurate employee relations advice and best practice processes which ensure sound workplace relations and drive a positive and fair workplace culture
Oversee the organisations end to end payroll process and function in accordance with all compliance requirements
Contribute strategically to ongoing cultural reform and workforce planning
Operational management of the HR Service Teams
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human resource management or equivalent qualification/experience
Minimum of seven (7) years' HR generalist experience, with demonstrated experience in Enterprise Agreement negotiations and Fair Work Commission matters
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a senior HR management role with responsibility for multiple HR Service streams and leadership of multiple teams and individuals
Ability to obtain a National Criminal History Check
Current C class drivers' licence
High degree of emotional intelligence, empathy, and excellent communication skills
Innate ability to solve problems without feeling overwhelmed
Comfortable with conflict and real, courageous conversations
Nice to have:
Previous experience in a Local Government or other public sector context
