This role supports one of New Zealand’s most significant and technically complex vertical infrastructure development currently underway. The project is a large-scale, secure operational facility being delivered through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) and joint venture model. Joining this project offers the rare chance to be part of a high-profile, nationally important build from within an established and well-resourced delivery team. You will work alongside industry specialists in a project setting that values professionalism, discretion and excellence, while offering exposure to sophisticated commercial, security and operational frameworks unique to PPP projects. Based in Templeton, Christchurch and reporting to the People & Culture Manager, the HR / Recruitment Advisor will work closely with teams across pre‑construction and delivery. This role is integral to project success and supports informed decision‑making and strong workforce and capability outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to the successful delivery of project workforce and resourcing objectives
Provide professional HR and recruitment advice and support to the project leadership team
Partner closely with operational leaders to understand and meet resourcing needs
Support quality, programme, safety, and workforce outcomes through effective people practices
Ensure HR and recruitment activities align with governance, contractual, legislative, and compliance requirements
Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle, from mobilisation through delivery
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience in a similar HR or recruitment advisory role
Strong problem‑solving and stakeholder management capability
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced project environment
Relevant experience in HR and/or recruitment within a complex project or operational environment
A strong understanding of structured, governance‑led people and recruitment processes
Practical, solutions‑focused judgement with the ability to operate in a dynamic setting
The ability to build effective working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders
Strong communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills
