Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced HR/Payroll Specialist to join our team in Guerneville, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing payroll processes, supporting HR functions, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while contributing to the success of a dedicated healthcare team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies
  • Review and verify payroll data, resolving discrepancies and making necessary adjustments
  • Handle inquiries and resolve issues related to payroll, including garnishments and deductions
  • Manage employee onboarding processes for new hires, contractors, and volunteers
  • Process employee status changes such as terminations, tax updates, and address modifications
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims, including documentation, reporting, and tracking
  • Respond to employment verification requests in a timely manner
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and address payroll-related questions
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting for all payroll activities
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline HR and payroll operations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources or administrative roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • certifications are a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, and payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently
  • Prior experience managing payroll for over 500 employees is advantageous
  • Customer service-oriented approach with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
