Our client, a leading engineering organisation based in Basingstoke, is looking for a motivated and adaptable HR Officer and Personal Assistant to support their Managing Director and oversee the day-to-day HR operations. Job Responsibility

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and the probation process in collaboration with departmental managers
  • Partner with an external HR consultancy to develop and implement HR policies
  • Provide support, guidance, and information on HR policies to both managers and staff
  • Manage payroll input alongside the Finance Director and external payroll bureau
  • Facilitate the appraisal process to identify learning and development needs
  • Handle day-to-day HR administration and maintain GDPR compliance for HR data
  • Ensure compliance with the Pension Regulator regarding the auto enrolment pension scheme
  • Provide confidential administrative support to the Managing Director
  • Prepare correspondence, monthly reports, and meeting agendas/minutes for various committees
  • Manage office supplies, catering for meetings, and travel arrangements for senior visitors
  • Oversee insurance policies and claims in conjunction with external brokers and management

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an HR role and administrative support at a senior level, ideally in a small company
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload independently
  • Proficient in IT and possess excellent problem-solving skills
  • A confidentiality champion with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Professional, approachable, and able to maintain integrity and honesty in all dealings
