As the HR lead, you will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment strategies to complex labor relations. This role is "hands-on"—you aren't just behind a desk; you are a visible leader on the production floor, building trust with hourly employees and coaching salaried leadership. You will manage one direct report and oversee all HR cycles, including budget planning, performance management, and engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses a high level of professional rigor, an even temperament under pressure, and the ability to adapt quickly to the shifting priorities of a modern manufacturing operation. We are seeking a high-energy, resilient HR Manager to lead the human resources function at our flagship, high-technology manufacturing plant in St. Marys. This is a critical leadership role for a "firm but fair" professional who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 industrial environment. Reporting to the Sector HR Director with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.
Job Responsibility:
Lead recruitment and onboarding for both hourly and salaried positions to meet growing staffing needs
Manage labor relations and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including grievance handling and 2026 contract renewal preparations
Coach and advise the leadership team on performance management, disciplinary matters, and succession planning
Drive employee engagement programs to maintain a positive, "close-knit" culture during periods of organizational change
Ensure 100% compliance with Health & Safety protocols and corporate HR policies
Act as a strategic partner in managing a workforce of 200 employees within a unionized setting
Requirements:
3–12 years of HR experience
At least 3 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Degree or Diploma in HR, Business, or a related field
CHRP/CHRL designation is highly preferred
Proven experience in a unionized environment
Proficiency in SAP/SuccessFactors and MS 365
Exceptional resilience, "rigor"
Ability to maintain an upbeat, approachable presence in a male-dominated, high-intensity workplace

Competitive Salary: Target range of $95,000 – $105,000 (with a maximum scale up to $115,000)
