Job Description:

Lead human resources operations and payroll management in Pasadena, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance, fostering employee relations, and overseeing all aspects of human resources, including policy development, benefits administration, and career development initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state, federal, and local employment laws
  • Oversee payroll processing operations, ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and adherence to tax laws and regulations
  • Manage recruitment efforts, including creating job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires
  • Provide guidance and support to management and staff on employee relations, compensation, and development matters
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including 401k plans, health insurance, and wellness initiatives
  • Conduct risk management activities such as overseeing workers' compensation programs, safety initiatives, and injury prevention measures
  • Maintain and update organizational charts, employee directories, and HR records to ensure accurate documentation
  • Lead training sessions and performance evaluation programs to enhance employee skills and organizational effectiveness
  • Coordinate responses to external audits, ensuring all necessary reports and documentation are prepared and submitted accurately
  • Supervise payroll staff and manage HRIS systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in human resources management and payroll administration
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employee relations, and multi-state payroll processes
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, such as Paylocity, and expertise in benefits administration
  • Demonstrated ability to manage union payroll and handle union dues processing
  • Familiarity with risk management programs, including workers' compensation and safety initiatives
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to provide strategic guidance to leadership teams
  • Proven track record in recruitment, onboarding, and employee development
  • In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
