Our Robert Half team is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the human resources operations for one of our clients in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working in unionized manufacturing settings and be a dynamic leader capable of driving critical HR initiatives that support business objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage all HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HRIS administration, ensuring policies and practices align with business needs
Partner with union representatives and management to address labor relations topics, negotiate contracts, resolve grievances, and maintain positive union relationships
Lead workforce planning and talent management initiatives to support hiring, retention, skills development, and succession planning
Implement and optimize HR technology, automation, and analytics to improve operational efficiencies
Drive employee engagement and foster a positive workplace culture through effective communication and support of employee programs
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws as well as collective bargaining agreements
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives while continuously improving HR processes and procedures
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment and union/labor relations
Demonstrated ability to lead HR initiatives in a complex, fast-paced setting
Strong knowledge of employment law, collective bargaining, and compliance requirements
Experience with HRIS and HR analytics
Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and drive results in alignment with organizational goals
