Job Description

On behalf of our client, a leading private university health system in Los Angeles, we are seeking a HRIS Specialist. The HR Information Systems (HRIS) Specialist supports the administration, optimization, and ongoing operations of enterprise HR systems. This role partners closely with HR, IT, and cross-functional teams to enhance system functionality, improve workflows, and ensure data integrity across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, systems experience, and the ability to support end users while driving process improvements.

Job Responsibility

  • Administer and support HR systems including HRIS, LMS, ATS, Time & Attendance, and Document Management systems
  • Monitor daily system operations to ensure accuracy, functionality, and timely processing
  • Provide end-user support, troubleshooting, and training across HR platforms
  • Collaborate with HR Systems, IT, and business stakeholders to optimize system performance and workflows
  • Design, develop, and deliver reporting solutions including dashboards, scheduled reports, and ad hoc analysis
  • Maintain and ensure data integrity across systems, particularly within LMS platforms
  • Support system upgrades, integrations, and implementation projects
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and reports to track HR metrics and performance
  • Develop training materials and presentations to support system adoption and user education
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend system enhancements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and 5 years of relevant experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR systems support and reporting experience
  • Experience with project management or system implementations
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience working with HRMS and LMS platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

Nice to have

  • Experience with systems such as Workday, HealthStream, Cornerstone, Kronos, or Document Management tools
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital environment
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)
