The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting daily human resources operations including employee relations, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring HR policies, procedures, and employment laws are consistently applied while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Job Responsibility:
Employee Relations: Serve as first point of contact for employee questions and concerns
Investigate workplace complaints and assist with conflict resolution
Provide guidance to managers on performance and disciplinary actions
Promote employee engagement initiatives and retention efforts
Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate recruiting activities including job postings, screenings, and interviews
Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs
Conduct new permanent orientation and onboarding processes
Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) records
Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, etc.)
Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation
Assist in development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
Support audits and reporting requirements
Benefits & Payroll Support: Administer employee benefits enrollment and changes
Act as liaison between employees and benefit providers
Assist payroll with timekeeping, deductions, and HRIS updates
Track leave of absences including FMLA and ADA accommodations
Performance Management & Training: Support performance review processes
Track training compliance and certifications
Coordinate employee development programs
Assist with coaching managers on HR best practices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5 years of Human Resources experience
Experience in employee relations and compliance strongly preferred
Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Proficiency with HRIS and ATS systems
Organizational and multitasking ability
Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Hands-on experience with: Employee relations
Onboarding and offboarding
HR compliance
Benefits administration
Performance management support
Experience working in an HRIS and/or ATS system
Understanding of employment laws and regulations: FLSA
