We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join an onsite team in Camden, New Jersey in a contract role with the potential to become permanent. This position will serve as the primary human resources contact for the location, supporting day-to-day HR operations across recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of New Jersey employment practices, works confidently with HR systems and Microsoft Office, and can operate independently in a stand-alone HR environment.
Job Responsibility:
Manage full-cycle recruitment activities, including candidate coordination, preparation of employment offers, and support for a smooth onboarding process
Lead onboarding efforts for new employees by organizing orientation steps, required documentation, and integration into company processes
Serve as the main point of contact for employee relations matters, addressing workplace concerns with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment
Prepare and submit recurring HR reports while maintaining accurate personnel records and supporting overall administrative compliance
Administer workers’ compensation and unemployment matters, including documentation, follow-up, and communication with relevant parties
Track and document workplace incidents, ensuring records are complete and appropriate next steps are handled in a timely manner
Support benefits-related HR functions and respond to employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and available programs
Maintain and update information within HRIS and related systems, ensuring data accuracy and effective use of HR technology
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in a human resources generalist or closely related role
Prior experience handling employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, and benefits support
Working knowledge of New Jersey employment practices and state-specific HR considerations
Ability to function independently and manage a broad HR workload as the sole HR representative on site
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using HRIS platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive information discreetly
Experience supporting workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and incident documentation is preferred
