We are looking for an HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations for a workforce of roughly 100 employees in Los Angeles, California. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can balance employee support, compliance, payroll coordination, and talent processes in a fast-moving environment. The role calls for someone who is comfortable working with a largely younger employee population while helping maintain consistent HR practices and a positive workplace experience.
Job Responsibility:
Manage core HR activities for a workforce of approximately 100 employees, including support for a smaller permanent staff population
Oversee payroll-related administration by reviewing timekeeping details, coordinating timecard accuracy, and helping ensure timely processing
Lead recruiting efforts from candidate outreach through hiring coordination to help fill open positions efficiently
Facilitate onboarding activities to create a smooth and compliant start for new employees, including documentation and orientation support
Maintain adherence to employment laws, workplace policies, and HR compliance standards across daily operations
Serve as a resource for employee relations matters by addressing workplace concerns, guiding managers, and promoting fair resolution practices
Support benefits and HR administrative processes while keeping employee records and HRIS information accurate and current
Partner with leadership on recurring annual HR activities aligned to the organization's July-to-June fiscal cycle
Work within a hybrid schedule, including onsite presence on Mondays and Wednesdays, to provide direct support to employees and managers
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in a broad HR Generalist capacity covering employee relations, compliance, and HR administration
Working knowledge of payroll support processes, timekeeping coordination, and onboarding administration
Solid understanding of labor laws and employment regulations with the ability to apply them in everyday HR situations
Experience supporting employee relations in dynamic environments, including teams with a range of experience levels
Familiarity with recruiting coordination, onboarding processes, and benefits-related HR support
Proficiency with HRIS platforms and maintaining accurate employee data and documentation
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
