We are looking for an HR Generalist to support our team in Seattle, Washington by delivering thoughtful, compliant, and people-focused human resources programs. This role partners with leaders and employees across the organization to strengthen hiring, employee relations, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, a strong understanding of employment practices, and the ability to balance business needs with a positive workplace culture.
Job Responsibility:
Advise leaders on human resources matters by identifying potential risks, recommending practical solutions, and promoting consistent application of employment practices
Create and refine people programs, policies, and procedures that support organizational growth, employee engagement, and long-term retention while reflecting company values
Administer leave of absence cases from start to finish, including guidance for managers, documentation oversight, and coordination related to employee time away from work
Review and update position descriptions and job requirements on a regular basis to support compliance with compensation and labor regulations at the local, state, and federal levels
Maintain accurate employee records and recommend improvements to HR data management processes and systems to enhance efficiency and compliance
Support compensation decisions by providing guidance on wages and salary practices, helping leadership remain competitive and aligned with applicable laws
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, orientation, training coordination, employee changes, and separation processing in partnership with payroll
Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits and workers’ compensation matters, handling documentation, employee questions, open enrollment activities, and return-to-work coordination
Represent the organization at recruiting events and develop external talent pipelines while also supporting internal referral efforts and other sourcing strategies
Handle unemployment claims and related hearings, maintain required records, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to budget oversight and other assigned HR initiatives
Requirements:
Experience in human resources generalist work covering employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, and benefits support
Working knowledge of employment laws, leave administration, compensation practices, and personnel recordkeeping requirements
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and the ability to maintain accurate employee information in a confidential manner
Ability to coordinate recruiting activities, support new employee orientation, and contribute to training and career development programs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to guide managers and respond effectively to employee questions
Experience managing workers’ compensation, unemployment processes, or similar compliance-driven HR programs is preferred
Ability to organize multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Construction industry experience or exposure is preferred
