We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. This role is essential in supporting the organization’s human resources operations, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and fostering a positive and mission-driven workplace culture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HR functions, payroll, and employee relations while demonstrating excellent organizational and communication skills.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes, including posting job openings, managing applications, conducting interviews, and preparing offer letters
Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws
Coordinate benefits enrollment, provide support to employees with benefits-related inquiries, and manage payroll processing using Paylocity
Process weekly and biweekly payroll efficiently while addressing payroll-related questions and issues
Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment
Track and manage mandatory employee trainings to ensure compliance with organizational and legal requirements
Assist with employee relations by addressing concerns and promoting engagement and performance management
Support supervisors in creating a workplace culture aligned with the organization’s mission
Perform additional HR administrative duties as needed to support the team
Collaborate with leadership to enhance HR strategies and initiatives
Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
Minimum of three years of hands-on HR experience, including full-cycle recruitment and onboarding
Proficiency in payroll processing, specifically using Paylocity, with experience in weekly and biweekly payroll
Strong knowledge of Massachusetts employment laws and regulations
Familiarity with cloud-based HR systems and advanced Excel skills
Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
Demonstrated engagement in community or mission-driven initiatives, particularly within nonprofit environments
