We’re looking for an HR Generalist to own payroll, benefits administration, and support key HR operations. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, covering everything from onboarding and offboarding to ensuring compliance and accuracy in day-to-day processes. You’ll play a vital part in supporting employees and strengthening HR systems, while gaining exposure to a broad range of HR responsibilities in a collaborative and growing company.
Job Responsibility:
Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
Maintain employee data, process new hires and terminations, and conduct new hire orientations
Administer benefits including enrollments, changes, terminations, COBRA, FMLA, and PTO
Support 401(k) administration and deferred compensation plans
Serve as the first point of contact for payroll and benefits questions
Work with legal and external counsel on immigration cases and compliance tracking
Assist with HR policy administration and compliance documentation
Support offboarding processes, including system terminations and exit tasks
Prepare reports, maintain files, and track employment verifications
Monitor work authorization due dates and ensure compliance
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
independent ownership of these functions strongly preferred
Proven experience processing payroll from start to finish, including handling terminations, expense reimbursements, and maintaining tax documentation
Strong working knowledge of HRIS platforms and payroll systems
Familiarity with benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, COBRA, FMLA, PTO, 401(k) plans, deferred compensation, and ACA compliance
Solid understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reports, data analysis, and tracking files)
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, including data entry, orientation, and exit processing
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines
Nice to have:
Familiarity with employment verifications and monitoring work authorization due dates
Exposure to immigration processes and working with legal counsel on employee cases
SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification
Experience with process improvements and system transitions
