We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our clients team in Crete, Nebraska. This role is pivotal in supporting employees, ensuring compliance with labor regulations, and fostering a positive workplace environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and skilled in handling employee relations, benefits administration, and HR policies.
Job Responsibility:
Build and maintain effective communication with union representatives to ensure alignment with collective bargaining agreements while addressing grievances and supporting contract negotiations
Act as a trusted resource for employees by providing guidance on workplace concerns, mediating conflicts, and conducting investigations into policy violations
Assist with benefits administration, including employee enrollment, addressing coverage inquiries, and coordinating with benefits providers
Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies by maintaining accurate employee records, monitoring regulatory adherence, and supporting audits
Organize and facilitate training programs aimed at employee development, tracking participation, and evaluating learning outcomes
Collaborate on payroll functions, resolving discrepancies, reviewing timecards, and ensuring timely processing of payments
Maintain accurate employee information in HR systems and generate reports on metrics such as turnover rates, headcount, and payroll data
Partner with leadership to identify workforce needs and support strategies for talent optimization
Draft, update, and communicate HR policies, ensuring employees are informed and providing clarity on policy interpretation
Contribute to special projects and reporting as required by the HR team and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
At least 3 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a unionized environment
Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred or willingness to obtain certification within two years
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
Proven ability to build effective relationships and contribute to HR excellence.
