Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is a long-term contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role, offering an opportunity to support a wide range of human resources functions. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless HR operations, particularly in areas such as employee relations, compliance, and recruitment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive employee experience
  • Manage job postings, screen resumes, and coordinate interview schedules with hiring committees
  • Provide guidance on employee grievances and ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies
  • Assist with leave management processes, including navigating requests and ensuring proper documentation
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records in adherence to union guidelines and legal requirements
  • Support employee relations initiatives by fostering communication and addressing workplace concerns
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure HR practices align with organizational goals and compliance standards
  • Facilitate training or informational sessions on HR policies and best practices
  • Utilize HRIS systems to manage employee data and generate reports as needed
  • Contribute to recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a unionized work environment
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, labor compliance, and HR best practices
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and experience managing employee data
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with nonprofit or legal aid environments is a plus.
