We are looking for an HR Generalist to support a healthcare organization in Canton Township, Ohio through a broad range of human resources activities. This contract-to-permanent position will play a key role in talent acquisition, employee support, compliance administration, and benefits coordination while helping managers maintain a positive and productive workplace. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple HR priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the recruitment process from requisition through final selection, partnering with leaders to move openings forward efficiently and maintain candidate pipelines
Draft and post job advertisements, review applications, schedule interviews, and help ensure a smooth and organized recruitment experience for applicants with relevant experience
Facilitate onboarding by collecting employment documentation, completing new employee processing, and delivering orientation for incoming employees
Oversee pre-employment screening activities, including background investigations and drug and alcohol testing, and administer ongoing random screening requirements
Support employee relations by addressing workplace concerns, assisting with conflict resolution, and participating in investigations in coordination with leadership and legal counsel when needed
Administer employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, prescription, and voluntary offerings, including support for annual renewal activities
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records, HR databases, compliance documents, I-9 files, and policy-related materials in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
Advise managers on HR matters such as performance concerns, corrective action, counseling, annual reviews, retention trends, and handbook or policy updates
Coordinate workers’ compensation, unemployment matters, provider credentialing, committee meeting preparation, staff presentations, recognition programs, and participation in leadership meetings as needed
Represent the HR function at workshops, job fairs, and other events, and travel when necessary to meet operational needs
Requirements:
Experience in human resources generalist work, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration
Working knowledge of employee benefits coordination, personnel file management, and confidential recordkeeping practices
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and maintaining accurate employee data in electronic systems
Understanding of compliance-related HR processes, including I-9 documentation, background screening, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and FMLA administration
Ability to support investigations, guide managers on disciplinary matters, and handle sensitive employee issues with professionalism and discretion
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, leadership, committees, and external partners
Organized and detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a healthcare or similarly regulated environment
