We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and has a strong background in human resources practices and employee relations. The role requires expertise in HR systems and processes to ensure smooth operations and compliance with regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Provide guidance to managers on employee performance matters, including corrective actions and performance improvement plans
Conduct thorough reviews of company policies and ensure employee acknowledgment
Oversee onboarding tasks such as verifying Form I-9, coordinating background checks, and managing drug screenings
Ensure all HR documentation and reporting are completed accurately and comply with federal, state, and local regulations
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries, offering clear policy explanations and support
Maintain detailed and confidential employee records to uphold organizational standards
Assist with daily HR operations, including onboarding and administrative tasks
Collaborate with HR team members and external partners to align processes and initiatives
Utilize HR software like Paychex and ADP Workforce Now to streamline operations
Requirements:
Proven experience in human resources functions, including employee relations and HR administration
Familiarity with onboarding processes and benefit management
Proficiency in HR software systems such as Paychex and ADP Workforce Now
Strong knowledge of HRIS and human resources management systems
Ability to manage sensitive employee information with confidentiality and precision
Solid understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
