Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will oversee key human resource processes, including payroll management, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee communications. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in HR practices and labor relations who thrives in a dynamic, unionized environment. This is a direct hire position with standard in office business hours, Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage payroll processing for both union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor agreements
  • Facilitate employee onboarding by setting up new hires in the payroll and HR systems
  • Administer benefits programs, including adjustments and garnishment processing
  • Provide support in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain effective communication with employees, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns
  • Collaborate on labor relations tasks, including administration of collective bargaining agreements and grievance documentation
  • Participate in recruitment efforts and oversee training and development initiatives
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and performance management activities
  • Assist with troubleshooting payroll issues and interface with HRIS platforms as needed
  • Manage specialized payroll transactions such as merit increases and attendance-related bonuses

Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS platforms and benefits administration
  • Familiarity with labor relations and collective bargaining agreements
  • Excellent communication skills to foster employee relations and resolve concerns
  • Ability to implement and manage HR policies and programs effectively
  • Experience with onboarding processes and employee data management
