Our established client in the Nashville area is seeking an experienced HR Director-level consultant to provide leadership coverage during a planned leave of absence. This role will step in to oversee the HR function, support key initiatives, and ensure continuity across people operations during a critical period. Timeframe is approximately mid-July (flexible) through December 2026.
Job Responsibility
Lead and support the HR team, including HRBPs and functional specialists, ensuring alignment and coverage during team absences
Partner closely with leadership (CEO / Legal) and provide clear, professional communication up and down the organization
Oversee and support Open Enrollment (mid-October), ensuring smooth execution and adequate coverage for a lean benefits team
Help manage and coordinate employee communications related to an upcoming office relocation (mid-November)
Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including investigations and coordination with outside counsel as needed
Support HRBPs with day-to-day advisory needs across the organization
Maintain focus on compliance, policy interpretation, and risk mitigation
Oversee payroll at a high level (team is stable
direct processing not expected but familiarity is helpful)
Identify and address any gaps in processes, communication, or team capacity during the engagement
Requirements
Proven experience at the HR Director level
Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
Experience navigating employee relations issues, compliance, and organizational communication
Comfortable stepping into a transitional environment and adding value quickly
Prior exposure to benefits oversight and Open Enrollment cycles
Familiarity with ADP or similar HRIS platforms
Payroll oversight experience is a plus (team is well established)
Professional, adaptable, and capable of working both strategically and tactically
