Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an interim HR Director to support a client in Columbus, OH. The interim HR Director will take over management of daily HR operations, to include overseeing 4 HR business partners across several different sites for a 200 employee company. Sites include facilities in Columbus, Mexico, and Europe. Primary responsibilities will be overseeing HR operations to include employee relations, recruiting, and HR policy. The organization is also currently assessing the future structure of the HR organization, so this role will also have some strategic components, working with the leadership team to design the future org structure. This role will start as a contract, with potential for contract to hire. Role is based in Columbus, but can accommodate a hybrid schedule.
Job Responsibility:
Manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance evaluations, and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee lifecycle
Maintain accurate employee records and HR system data integrity, providing reliable reporting and analytics
Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, resolving issues promptly and effectively
Advise managers on employee relations, performance challenges, disciplinary actions, and terminations
Coach leaders on best practices in people management, communication, and documentation
Collaborate with managers to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention strategies
Provide guidance to employees on benefits, workplace policies, and overall HR-related inquiries
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, addressing legal and regulatory requirements
Lead investigations into employee relations matters and oversee corrective action procedures
Update and maintain the employee handbook and policies, ensuring alignment with legal changes and organizational needs
Take over management of daily HR operations, to include overseeing 4 HR business partners across several different sites for a 200 employee company
Oversee HR operations to include employee relations, recruiting, and HR policy
Work with the leadership team to design the future org structure
Requirements:
Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience with direct responsibility for HR operations
Previous experience managing HR functions for organizations with 150–300 employees is preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Proven expertise in benefits administration and HR systems
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with leaders while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment
Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on detail and execution
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, balancing empathy and firmness
Capability to independently manage tasks in a fast-paced environment while addressing sensitive employee matters
