We are looking for an experienced HR Director to lead the human resources function for a high-volume dealership-driven organization in San Diego, California. This role will serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, aligning HR initiatives with business goals while managing daily employee relations and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the automotive industry, with a proven track record of navigating complex workforce dynamics and driving organizational development.
Job Responsibility:
Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, aligning HR strategies with company objectives
Provide guidance on employee relations, compensation structures, and organizational design to support business growth
Oversee employee relations activities, including investigations, policy interpretation, and compliance with employment laws
Lead organizational development initiatives, including role clarity, job leveling, and pay band alignment
Develop and refine compensation frameworks tailored to the automotive industry and dealership dynamics
Manage and mentor a centralized HR team, fostering attention to detail and operational excellence
Leverage HR systems such as Dayforce to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
Ensure consistent application of HR policies and best practices across all departments
Partner with leadership to address evolving workforce needs and support strategic objectives
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of HR leadership experience, with a strong focus on the automotive industry
Proven ability to support dealership environments and manage high-volume employee populations
Extensive experience in employee relations, including handling complex and sensitive cases
Expertise in organizational development, compensation design, and workforce strategy
Strong understanding of compliance requirements and employment laws at all levels
Demonstrated success in operationally complex, people-intensive environments
Exceptional leadership and team development skills, with the ability to mentor and grow HR professionals
Proficiency with HR systems such as Dayforce and other relevant tools
