We are partnering with a small (100 person) mission-driven nonprofit organization in NYC that is seeking a temporary HR Director to step in during a key transition period. This is a hands-on HR leadership role for someone who can bring structure, stability, and sound judgment while keeping important people priorities moving. The ideal candidate is calm, organized, analytical, and comfortable being both strategic and hands-on. This person should be able to walk into an evolving environment, assess what needs attention, communicate clearly, and keep the trains moving without needing a lot of hand-holding.
Job Responsibility
Recruiting across approximately 8-10 open roles
Final interviews, offers, onboarding, and employee development
Benefits renewal from August through October
Annual retirement plan audit for 500+ participants
Payroll approval and employee data through Paycom
Visa and immigration tracking, in partnership with a legal firm
Employee relations, turnover management, and internal communication
HR partnership with Finance, Legal, and senior leadership
