Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced HR Director with over 15 years of expertise to join our team in Foster City, California. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a key role in shaping organizational strategies, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for HR team members
  • Oversee all aspects of human resources operations, including employee relations, compliance, union matters, and policy development in alignment with California labor laws
  • Manage compensation and benefits programs, including vendor relations, benchmarking, and plan design, while advising leadership on workforce strategy
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to support organizational culture, mission, and strategic goals
  • Serve as a key advisor on lawsuits and risk management matters, working directly with external legal counsel
  • Build and nurture an inclusive workplace culture, ensuring engagement across a multigenerational, predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce
  • Develop and implement effective succession planning and training programs to support employee growth
  • Ensure HR practices align with organizational goals and comply with state and federal regulations
  • Monitor and improve HR systems to enhance efficiency and employee experience

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in human resources leadership roles
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, compliance, and California labor law
  • Proven ability to manage compensation and benefits programs, including vendor negotiations and plan design
  • Experience working with executive leadership teams on strategic initiatives and organizational culture
  • Ability to advise on legal matters related to risk management and employee relations
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a focus on mentorship and team development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR systems and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement

Nice to have:

Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred to support a predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce
