We are looking for an experienced HR leader to guide human resources strategy and day-to-day operations for a mission-driven nonprofit in Minnesota. This role partners closely with executive leadership to strengthen people practices, improve organizational effectiveness, and support a welcoming, values-based workplace. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic insight and operational discipline, with the ability to lead teams, enhance HR systems, and develop talent across a complex organization.
Job Responsibility:
Shape and execute human resources strategies that align workforce priorities with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term goals
Partner with senior leadership to advise on organizational design, employee engagement, workforce planning, and people-related decision-making
Direct core HR operations, ensuring effective delivery across employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, compliance, and policy management
Lead and mentor HR team members, fostering accountability, careful attention to quality, and a high standard of service across the function
Evaluate and improve HR workflows, systems, and reporting capabilities to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall employee experience
Oversee HR technology and system administration, including management of platform performance, data integrity, and user support
Guide change initiatives that strengthen processes, improve adoption of new practices, and support organizational growth
Use workforce data and analytics to inform planning, identify trends, and recommend practical solutions to leadership
Promote an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture that reflects the organization’s commitment to service and belonging
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline
advanced degree preferred
At least 7 years of progressive leadership experience in human resources, including team supervision and strategic planning responsibility
Strong background in HR operations, with experience managing compliance, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and administration
Demonstrated success leading process improvements, organizational change efforts, and high-performing HR teams
Experience working with HR information systems
familiarity with UKG Ready or oversight of HRIS administration is preferred
Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels
Commitment to supporting the mission, values, and service-oriented culture of a nonprofit organization
HR certification or experience in nonprofit, healthcare, human services, or distributed workforce environments is a plus
