We are looking for an experienced HR Director to lead human resources strategy and day-to-day operations in West Michigan. This role will guide employee relations, benefits administration, compensation programs, and core HR practices while helping the organization maintain a compliant and supportive workplace. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership judgment, a practical approach to policy administration, and the ability to align HR initiatives with business needs.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the overall human resources function, setting priorities and overseeing programs that support employees and organizational goals
Provide direction on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, workplace concerns, and performance-related issues
Manage benefits administration processes, ensuring employees receive accurate information and timely support regarding available plans
Oversee compensation practices by evaluating pay structures, supporting salary decisions, and helping maintain internal equity
Administer HR policies, procedures, and documentation to promote consistency, efficiency, and strong recordkeeping
Monitor employment law and regulatory requirements to help the organization remain compliant with applicable HR standards
Partner with leadership to advise on workforce planning, organizational development, and people-related decision-making
Review and improve HR programs and processes to strengthen service delivery and enhance the employee experience
Requirements:
10+ years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership responsibility in a senior HR role
Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, and HR operations
Strong knowledge of HR compliance requirements and ability to apply employment-related policies appropriately
Experience advising managers and executives on sensitive workforce matters with professionalism and discretion
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound decisions, and lead HR initiatives effectively
