Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced HR Development Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of our people development initiatives. Working closely with senior leaders in a fast-paced, multi-customer environment, you will identify skills gaps, strengthen succession pipelines and drive initiatives that enhance leadership capability and long-term workforce development. You will also play a key role in ensuring our business remains compliant with emerging employment legislation.

  • Design and deliver development strategies that translate organisational goals into an effective people development plan
  • Lead the implementation of new employment legislation, updating policies, guidance and training materials to ensure full compliance and minimise organisational risk
  • Take ownership of key HR development projects including capability frameworks, talent development initiatives and succession programmes
  • Shape and deliver training strategies, designing and delivering training solutions to enhance skills, strengthen capability and support operational excellence
  • Partner with leaders to identify current and future skills gaps, building targeted development interventions and robust succession plans across all business units
  • Oversee and continuously improve succession planning cycles, ensuring continuity of critical roles and supporting leaders to nurture internal talent
  • Coach and mentor managers, helping to strengthen people leadership, performance management and employee engagement
  • Use organisational data to analyse development needs, recommending organisational development (OD) improvements and measuring impact
  • Develop and embed HR policies, procedures and programmes related to training, development, talent management, performance and succession
  • Collaborate closely with HR Advisors, ensuring they grow capability and gain wider exposure to HR development practices
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders, managers and key stakeholders to influence decisions and drive a culture of continuous development

Requirements:

  • Experience operating at HRBP or HR Development Manager level
  • Strong background in fast-paced, multi-site or multi-customer environments
  • Solid understanding of current and upcoming UK employment legislation
  • Experience designing, managing and delivering people development projects
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working toward)
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid pattern – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
