Our client, a rapidly growing AI startup on the Peninsula, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized HR Coordinator to support critical employee onboarding, I-9 compliance, and immigration processes during an exciting period of growth. Job Responsibility
Coordinate and administer all I-9 employment eligibility verification processes, ensuring compliance with federal regulations
Manage E-Verify submissions and maintain accurate employment authorization records
Partner closely with immigration counsel, employees, and internal stakeholders to support visa sponsorship and immigration-related processes, including H-1B, TN, OPT, CPT, and other work authorization programs
Track visa expiration dates, renewals, and immigration milestones to ensure timely action and compliance
Support new hire onboarding activities, including document collection, orientation coordination, and HRIS data management
Maintain employee records and confidential HR documentation with a high level of accuracy
Assist with contractor onboarding, offboarding, and workforce administration
Respond to employee questions regarding onboarding, work authorization, and HR policies
Support audits and reporting related to employment eligibility, immigration, and personnel records
Collaborate with People Operations leadership on process improvements and special projects
Requirements
2+ years of HR coordination, HR operations, or people operations experience
Hands-on experience with I-9 administration and employment eligibility verification
Familiarity with U.S. immigration processes, visa sponsorship programs, and work authorization requirements
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Experience working with HRIS systems and maintaining confidential employee records
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment where priorities can shift quickly
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
