Job Responsibility:
Verifying and reporting hours for bi-weekly payroll processing and managing vacation tracking/communication
Supporting the full recruitment process from reviewing requirements, formalizing job descriptions, posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
Conducting pre-employment checks, managing the full onboarding process for new staff, and clearly explaining employee pay and benefit packages
Assisting in developing, distributing, and tracking performance appraisals. Helping managers and employees set annual performance standards and reporting against targets
Coaching employees to help them reach their full potential, encouraging high performance, and endorsing the principles of teamwork
Ensuring adherence to relevant employment laws and regulations and highlighting any forthcoming legislative changes
Drafting general forms, letters, reports, and memos, and supporting the HR Team with all transactional functions
Assisting with the coordination and implementation of employee retention programs
Being flexible to take on ad hoc duties as priorities change within a busy department
Requirements:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a closely related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and private information with the highest levels of discretion and ethical standards
Prior experience in an HR function, internship, or exposure to core HR practices is considered a significant asset
Proven success in a fast-paced office or administrative setting is beneficial
Expert level competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), with the capacity to rapidly master new software and systems
Meticulous attention to detail ensuring high levels of accuracy in all documentation and processes
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across a diverse workforce
Possesses a strong work ethic, exhibits a positive team-oriented approach, and is recognized as dependable and professional
