We are looking for an experienced HR Coordinator to join our team in Illinois in a contract capacity with the potential for a long-term opportunity. This role is ideal for a human resources team member who can confidently manage core HR operations, support employees throughout the employment lifecycle, and help maintain compliance with changing labor regulations. The position is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to become a key resource for payroll, onboarding, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR support.
Job Responsibility:
Process payroll accurately for a small employee population and help ensure timely resolution of pay-related questions
Coordinate recruiting and new employee activities, including onboarding, pre-employment steps, and orientation support
Maintain organized and up-to-date personnel files, HR records, and employment documentation in alignment with company standards
Assist employees with benefit-related questions and provide administrative support for enrollment and ongoing benefits coordination
Monitor HR practices for compliance with applicable labor laws and support updates to policies, procedures, and employee time-off administration
Use HR systems and related tools to manage employee information, track documentation, and support routine HR reporting
Provide general HR administrative support across daily operations and serve as a reliable point of contact for employee inquiries
Cross-train in circulation coverage to help support staffing needs when team members are unavailable and occasional weekend events require additional assistance
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
At least 5 years of hands-on human resources experience in a coordinator or generalist-level capacity
Demonstrated experience with payroll processing, including use of ADP or a similar payroll platform
Strong experience in onboarding, employee record management, and HR administration
Working knowledge of HR compliance requirements, candidate screening processes, and employment documentation practices
Experience using HRIS platforms to maintain accurate employee data and support HR workflows
Ability to work fully onsite in Hazel Crest, Illinois, with flexibility to support occasional Saturday events as needed
