We are looking for an HR Coordinator to support key people operations activities for a Contract position based in Arlington, Virginia. This role will focus on delivering a smooth employee onboarding experience, maintaining accurate HR records, and helping ensure compliance with hiring and employment processes. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience coordinating background checks, HR administration, and HRIS updates.
Job Responsibility
Coordinate pre-employment and onboarding activities to create a timely and organized start experience for new hires
Manage background screening steps and follow up with candidates, hiring teams, and vendors to keep hiring workflows on schedule
Maintain employee information in HR systems with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
Prepare, review, and process HR documentation related to new hires, employee records, and routine personnel transactions
Support day-to-day human resources administration by responding to employee questions and directing inquiries appropriately
Help monitor compliance with internal policies and employment-related requirements throughout the onboarding process
Track onboarding progress, identify outstanding items, and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders
Assist with process improvements and administrative tasks that strengthen HR operations and recordkeeping
Requirements
Experience supporting onboarding activities within a human resources environment
Working knowledge of HR administration practices and employee documentation processes
Experience coordinating or monitoring background checks as part of the hiring cycle
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and the ability to maintain accurate employee data
Understanding of HR compliance requirements related to hiring and onboarding
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
High attention to detail and discretion when handling sensitive employee information
