We are looking for an HR Coordinator to support core human resources operations for a healthcare organization in Bayside, New York. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable managing onboarding activities, compliance documentation, and employee records with accuracy. The role will partner with internal teams to help create a smooth hiring and onboarding experience while maintaining consistent HR administrative support.
Job Responsibility
Coordinate pre-employment and onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring required documents are collected, reviewed, and completed on time
Manage background screening steps and follow up with candidates, hiring teams, and vendors to keep hiring processes moving efficiently
Maintain employee information in HR systems and update records with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
Support day-to-day HR administrative functions, including preparing employment documentation and tracking key onboarding milestones
Monitor compliance-related requirements and help ensure personnel files and hiring records align with organizational and regulatory standards
Communicate clearly with candidates and internal stakeholders to answer questions and provide status updates throughout the onboarding process
Assist with HR reporting, audit preparation, and record verification as needed to support operational readiness
Requirements
Experience supporting employee onboarding and permanent staff coordination in a human resources environment
Working knowledge of HR administration practices, including document management and employee record maintenance
Familiarity with candidate screening processes and the ability to track completion details accurately
Hands-on experience using HRIS platforms to enter, update, and review personnel information
Understanding of HR compliance requirements and the importance of handling confidential information appropriately
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and follow-up activities
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with candidates, employees, and internal teams
