Western Digital is seeking a detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join the HR Operations team on a 6-month contract assignment. This role will focus on employment eligibility verification and I-9 compliance activities, supporting new hire onboarding while ensuring adherence to federal regulations and company policies. Job Responsibility
Complete Section 2 of Form I-9 for new hires within required federal deadlines
Review and verify employee identity and employment authorization documentation in accordance with USCIS requirements
Accurately enter I-9 information into HR systems and maintain supporting documentation
Escalate incomplete, missing, or questionable documentation to the HR Operations Manager
Support compliance efforts by following established policies, procedures, and quality standards
Maintain organized electronic and/or physical I-9 files in accordance with retention requirements
Ensure documents are properly filed, labeled, and securely stored
Track reverification dates and maintain related reporting and spreadsheets
Assist with audits and document retrieval requests as needed
Communicate with employees and managers regarding pending I-9 requirements and deadlines
Respond to basic questions related to employment eligibility verification
Support ongoing HR Operations initiatives and administrative projects
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, OR currently pursuing a degree in a related discipline
Alternatively, 1 year of administrative experience in HR, legal, compliance, operations, or a similar environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures with accuracy
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems preferred
