Job Description

Western Digital is seeking a detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join the HR Operations team on a 6-month contract assignment. This role will focus on employment eligibility verification and I-9 compliance activities, supporting new hire onboarding while ensuring adherence to federal regulations and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources, compliance, and HR operations within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Complete Section 2 of Form I-9 for new hires within required federal deadlines
  • Review and verify employee identity and employment authorization documentation in accordance with USCIS requirements
  • Accurately enter I-9 information into HR systems and maintain supporting documentation
  • Escalate incomplete, missing, or questionable documentation to the HR Operations Manager
  • Support compliance efforts by following established policies, procedures, and quality standards
  • Maintain organized electronic and/or physical I-9 files in accordance with retention requirements
  • Ensure documents are properly filed, labeled, and securely stored
  • Track reverification dates and maintain related reporting and spreadsheets
  • Assist with audits and document retrieval requests as needed
  • Communicate with employees and managers regarding pending I-9 requirements and deadlines
  • Respond to basic questions related to employment eligibility verification
  • Support ongoing HR Operations initiatives and administrative projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, OR currently pursuing a degree in a related discipline
  • Alternatively, 1 year of administrative experience in HR, legal, compliance, operations, or a similar environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures with accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems preferred
